For some patients evidently. The evidence comes in a number of ways.
Firstly, anecdotally. We have been seeing patients who report they noticed a fall off in the hardness of their erections after they suffered from COVID and or the jab. We have not been collecting data, at this point, on their history of vaccinations, antibody testing and related illness and are therefore unable to report the percentages of issues.
Secondly, a growing number of scientific studies like this one, The Epidemic of COVID-19-Related Erectile Dysfunction: A Scoping Review and Health Care Perspective by Tung-Chin Hsieh, MD, published in September 2021, reported “The evidence that COVID-19 infection causes or impacts ED is compelling.”
Thirdly, the mechanisms that link the infection with degradation of cardiovascular functions are now established. COVID causes the endothelium, which is the layer of cells coating the inside of blood vessels, to swell up and degrade (the technical terms are micro-thrombosis and disseminated intravascular coagulation). The blood vessels in the penis are like the canary in the coal mine and an early warning of more widespread damage.
A fourth mechanism is that the coronavirus binds to receptors on the surface of testosterone-producing cells in the testicles causing a deficiency of the hormone. This in turn causes feelings of low energy and a reduction in sex drive.
Can SONICWAVE Counter the Effects of ED Caused by COVID?
Our experience is that SONICWAVE can treat the after effects of COVID on erectile dysfunction.
SONICWAVE causes microtrauma in the tissue which kicks off cellular regeneration and the regrowth of blood vessels. We use Dual-action SONICWAVE that works on the deeper lying blood vessels and well as the ones near and in the skin.
There are multiple potential causes for erectile dysfunction and everyone’s situation is unique, which is the reason we insist that each of our patients consult with a physician and our therapies are overseen by licensed medical doctors.
